We have a date...but I don't like it
Here is the image you should have of me today...falling very dramatically onto my bed with my hand over my head and a woe is me attitude. Now that didn't actually happen, mostly because if it had I probably would not have been able to get back up without assistance but that is what I felt like this morning after talking to "The scheduler". I finally heard back from the doctor's office with a date for my c-section. The first phone call I was told that I was due on April 30th and she was out of the office that Thursday and Friday. No wait I say, she told me she would deliver at 37 wks. This leads to phone call number two. The second call I am told that she will not deliver any earlier than April 9th which is a Saturday I believe and she doesn't do c-sections on Saturdays so she moved me on into the next week. Now we are at 38 wks and since I want a Thursday or Friday because of Mike's work schedule (I am trying to keep his days off to the days that I am home, not in the hospital) that put us at the end of the 38 wk. Well if we are gonna wait 38 why not just take it on to 40. Yes I am a little bitter about this because it does not work for me at all. Thankfully, I have some fabulous friends who are on stand by with their salad tongs, turkey basters, masks, and towels and blankets. Ahh with that kind of assistance, 38 wks ain't looking that bad! Thanks girls!! I really don't see April 14th being a goal here. In fact, I still say they will come early. Contractions are picking up and all kinds of stuff. I have decided to rest this afternoon in hopes that my dramatic morning does not make me look like I am crying Wolf if I end up at the hospital. I figure Mike is already anticipating a trip soon so I am trying to be really calm and just see what happens, because right now I can see a phone call in the making to the doctor. I mean, it is the least they can do to check me out after giving me this absurd date...right?! Again, trying to remain calm and just see how the rest of the evening goes. After I finish getting our "just in case" bags packed. I know I will sleep better knowing that everyone has their stuff in case we do have to go. Plus I will feel like I am doing something to get this party started.
