Superbaby (aka The Handsome Devils) update:
They are eating us out of house and home. Our one can of formula that I would buy at the beginning of a week is not lasting long at all. I think we are probably on three cans a week. But they are packing on the lbs so at least something good is coming out of it. I have no idea how much they weigh because we haven't been back to any doctor lately but that will all change in the next few weeks. Drs visits-oh joy! I am sure the GI dr visit is going to go really well when I tell him that they have not been on their meds in over two months. But I just don't see the point in giving them something that they don't need. They have done great without it. Occasionally they will spit up but I have figured out why and try to avoid that. They went swimming for the first time today. Lucas squirmed and Easton didn't really care. But that is Easton's attitude.
They have the sweetest smiles that will melt your heart. And they love to grin at me in the wee hours of the morning as I fuss at them to go back to sleep.
Oh and here is something to think about: Last Friday (I originally started this post on the 9th) Mike and I figured out an estimate of how many diapers they have used since birth. Ya ready???? 1400 diapers each from birth to last weekend. WOW!
The Princess and the Cowgirl Update:
We registered for school today. Evan is SO excited which I am glad but my heart jumped to my throat when we were almost to the school. We have almost all of our school supplies. We went today to buy part of the list and with her excitement and my not wanting to come back and battle crowds, we almost completed our list.
Aiden is not so excited that her sister is going to school. She wants to go with her. This is going to be a big transistion. She is also having nightmares and with her dramatic flair they are well dramatic. She declared that she would never sleep again, just rest, because she had a dream about getting lost in the rain on her bike. She said she did not ever want to dream again. The next night it was about snakes everywhere. Now when she sees a dark cloud, she freaks out and we have to come in.
Garden Update:
The squash has yielded about 10 gallons. I have 8 gallons I think in the freezer. I finally started giving squash away and we have had squash about once a week. I saw on the Paula Deen show that she drizzled balsamic vinegarette over veggies and stuck them on the grill. Well I needed a new variation so I did that and stuck it in the oven. It was really, really good. We might have that again for dinner. Should compliment the chicken nuggets, baked beans, and easy mac nicely. =) The squash can just be my "grown up" part of the meal.
We are now being over run by tomatoes. I for one am a happy girl. Mike is a bit worried. He asked me what I plan on doing with all of them and I said eat and can. So far I am eating them. Mostly just cherry tomatoes so I can't really can them-yet. Maybe this weekend.
We can't wait for the sweet potatoes to be ready. We are ready to see what we have.
And peas. We have peas. The girls are loving shelling them. We now have enough for one meal. Just one. =) But there are lots of peas out there waiting for me.
Other stuff:
Montana and Sam are proud new parents of 8 puppies. So I hope to find them homes in five weeks when they will be ready. They will be registered so spread the word.
I think that is all of our excitement around here. I am sure I am forgetting something but it did take me three days to finish this post and I have another one I want to start. Maybe two posts in one day if the handsome devils will cooperate.
