"I am going to take a post idea from Brandy C now and give everyone a little story about Aiden's arrival.Ok so to start out, we find out I am pregnant with her in May or June I think so the ultrasound is scheduled for September. We have the ultrasound and to be honest I was expecting to have to come back for another one because we did with Evan (she was modest), and Aiden would not give us a clear picture. But then I saw something. We are having a boy (I think I screamed a little on the video and I clapped) but that one little peek was all she was going to give us. So we spend the next four months planning on a boy. Evan is going to name her baby brudder "Cheeseburger, Night Night, Bob, Santa Claus" and was excited about having a brother. We bought clothes but I just could not take the tags off of stuff and wash everything, so I kept them in the closet. Well New Years Eve comes around and I am convinced I am having this baby, we call the doctor, we go in and nothing. No New Years baby. A week or so later it is Evan's bday party, after the party, again I am convinced I am in labor (and I really do think I was) so we go back to the ER and nothing. Skip ahead to Jan 21st and I have had back pain all weekend so I call the doctor and sweet Becky said, "Hon, you need to come on in". Well in I go. Dr Straughn informs me how far along I am and says, "You know, I don't think you need to go home. I am admitting you." So I call and make arrangements with everyone and Becky comes and wheels me off to Labor and Delivery. During the walk to the L and D, I ask her something like "if the baby does not come tonight what time will I go home tomorrow". And her response "Oh Hon, you are not going home without a baby. That baby will come tonight or in the morning". Well that baby did not come that night. Dr Straughn comes in about 8 the next morning and breaks my water and she is thinking, it won't take long but it takes I think 4 hours. Now, keep in mind at this point we are thinking we are having a boy. Everything about this pregnancy has been completely different than with Evan. I was sick, I pulled some muscle that was worse pain than labor, and then there is the ultrasound which I played back before I left the day before. So four hours, an epidural, and several naps later....Dr Straughn says "It's a....Girl?!" Mike's face and the Dr's was shock and then Mike grinned from ear to ear. I am now thinking several things in my drugged state "1. put it back you have the wrong baby". 2 "oh no I am having twins". and 3 "my little boy lost his thingy and now he is a girl"...yes I was drugged and thought all of these things. Well needless to say we were the celebrity of our floor. Everyone walked by my room and said "they are the ones that thought they were having a boy but had a girl". And to make it even more eventful, I took Aiden back to the nursery one night not really knowing where it was but saw some signs that said Nursery next to the Elevator. I thought, How dumb putting the nursery next to the elevator because someone could snatch and go (and the monitor was not stuck to her very well). Well during my thoughts there is all sorts of comotion and beeping. Turns out I was at the wrong door and had managed to lock the entire floor down and security was coming because they thought someone was stealing a baby. My nurse just laughed at me but the nursery nurse was not happy. Now how Aiden got her name. Our boy was going to be Aiden Michael. The not so nice little volunteer ladies were very insistant that she have a name before I left the hospital so I got the pen and paper out and came up with Aiden Mychael because she is Mike's boy.Ms Aiden made a grand entrance and has not stopped surprising us and keeping us on our toes since. She is a sneaky little thing but is most always happy. If only she would call me Mama instead of MMMMMMMM.Thanks for reading my long post. And Happy First Birthday to Aiden. I will post pictures later and the party is next week so that is a whole other post waiting to happen. "

Happy Birthday Evan
I went searching through the blog posts on both blogs thinking I had the story of Evan on one of them. Well I found Aiden's and not Evan's. Ever. So bad mom moment there. I can't take credit for this idea, this is a Brandy C idea from a few years ago to re-blog every year the story of your child's birth so you don't forget it. So 8 years later let's see what I remember. =) I have been telling her about it a lot this week so maybe I have remembered most.
January 9, 2010
My day started off differently than the other days in the week. I had been officially on maternity leave/slash stay at home mom status for about 9 days. Mike was supposed to work evenings I think but I had swapped with a guy and was working his night shift. So that day we worked on Evan's room. I wasn't officially due until Feb 10 so we thought we still had a month. I vacuumed her room and then we ran to Bob Sykes for dinner. I had a Bob Sykes cheeseburger-yes I remember exactly what I had because I believe it put me in labor and I have since heard similar stories of the magic behind the Bob Sykes Cheeseburgers. We came home and Mike got ready for work and went in. I had my nightly Sugar Free Strawberry Jello-I remember this too because the nurse asked if I had eaten anything before they gave me the drugs. I fell asleep and woke up to a wet bed. My first thought was, seriously I am an adult and I wet the bed. Then I realized nope my water broke so I called Mike at work and called the doctor and asked over and over if he was certain that I was not going to deliver right that very minute because my husband was on his way to get me. He laughed and said I was fine-I should have believed him but I didn't. I sat on the bathroom rug because I didn't want to make a mess and that is where Mike found me. I remember he asked if he had time to take a shower. And he did end up taking a shower. So off we rush to the hospital, me still thinking Evan is coming at any moment. Mike said he drove well over the speed limit and I do remember saying to slow down because I didn't want to end up in an ambulance. Once we arrived at the hospital we went to the ER well that is not where you are supposed to go so some guy wheeled me across the hospital and I was worried Mike wouldn't find me. Still thinking we are going to have a baby at any moment. Well we didn't. 14 hrs after being admitted to the hospital, a couple of hours dozing in and out of Rick and Bubba on Turner and several freezing moments for Mike because I kept telling them I was burning up so they kept turning the air down and he kept going over to the blanket warmer and getting a fresh one out, Evie Lu was born. And she has been on her own time ever since.
Now looking back, while her grand entry was dramatic the rest of the process was uneventful. I was thinking about it last night and thanking God for her and I told Him I knew He gave me her first for a reason. I am not completely sure what it is yet but I know He did. Everyone has a purpose, everyone was created for a reason and there is a reason behind everything/everyone. Sometimes (most times) she is too smart for her age but then she will have a moment and I will realize that she is only 7 now 8. She is only a little girl. And she is only this age once.
Happy Birthday Evan Lee.
